About Christmas in the Park

San José’s beloved holiday tradition since 1980 — bringing community together through the magic of Christmas.

Who We Are

Christmas in the Park is San José’s beloved holiday tradition, welcoming over one million guests each season since 1980. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we produce one of the largest free holiday events in the country in the heart of downtown San José.

Our Mission

We bring the community together through the magic of the holiday season — creating free, joyful, and inclusive experiences for families of all backgrounds. Our work extends beyond the lights into arts, culture, and STEAM education initiatives that serve underserved youth throughout our region.

What We Do

Each season, our programs include the iconic downtown park experience at Plaza de César Chávez, Blinky’s Drive-Thru Light Show, the Enchanted Forest, Santa visits, the Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Build, STEAM education programs, and signature community events throughout the holidays.
