Christmas in the Park is a long-running San José tradition that hosts nearly 1 million visitors each year. With both a Walk-Thru experience in Downtown San José and a Drive-Thru Light Show at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, we take pride in spreading joy and holiday cheer.

🎄 Open Positions — 2026 Season

Load In / Load Out

Oct 27 – Nov 27  ·  Jan 4 – Jan 29  ·  40 hrs/wk  ·  7am – 3pm

Assist the Operations Team with set up and tear down of event sites, following safety protocols outlined by the Operations Director.

  • Laying porta floor / porta path in designated areas
  • Installing fencing and staking Christmas trees
  • Building lighting truss and running power
  • Setting up displays, attractions, and vendor booths
  • Adding final touches to displays and structures
  • Towing displays into and out of the Park or Drive-Thru

Park Staff

Nov 27 – Jan 3  ·  7 days/week  ·  Usual shift 2pm – 10pm

Assist the Operations Team with providing excellent customer service to our guests, following safety protocols outlined by the Operations Director.

  • Monitor the park and answer guest FAQs
  • Safeguard parking areas for vendors, employees, and performers
  • Maintain park cleanliness and display upkeep
  • Perform opening and closing tasks
  • Basic fluency in Spanish or Vietnamese is a welcome plus

Stage Manager — Downtown Jingle Bell Community Stage

Nov 27 – Jan 3  ·  Evenings + Weekend Mornings

Assist the Operations Team by supporting community stage functions before and during events.

  • Oversee nightly run of show
  • Make announcements to guests between acts
  • Test mics, monitors, and lights prior to show
  • Ensure all requested/necessary gear is ready for each performance
  • Assist Programs Manager in scheduling performers
  • Handle morning opening (weekends) or nightly shutdown

Assistant Stage Manager

Nov 27 – Jan 3  ·  Event nights

Supports operations as a liaison between stage acts, the Stage Manager, and the Operations team.

  • Supervise backstage operations and coordinate talent
  • Greet acts, assist with parking passes and loading zone procedures
  • Move acts into green rooms and manage backstage logistics
  • Maintain walkways for stage traffic and access door closures
Ideal for individuals in school for — or looking to get more involved in — stage production.

💰 Starting Pay

$17.50 – $21.00 / hrStarting pay, depending on experience

Job types: Full-time, Temporary. A background check will be required.

⚠️ Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds regularly
  • Must be able to work outdoors in extreme weather (wet, windy, or California cold)
  • Must be able to respond quickly to voice instructions
  • Must be able to work with tight deadlines
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
